Search Box in App Store is hard to clear with X

Has anyone else noticed, that after you do a search in the SEARCH bar at the top right of the App Store, it is difficult to clear the search with clicking the X button at the end of the bar?

I originally thought I was missing the X, but that isn't it. It's a glitch, I'm convinced.

The only 'work-around' I have is to first click the Search bar, (which brings up the virtual keyboard), press the spacebar once, and then click the X in the SEARCH bar. It's an extra few steps, but it's the only thing I can do to erase the previous search (other than pressing X on the keyboard several times...)

Any thoughts on this?

I don't think it is a glitch since I can easily clear search terms from the box in the App Store, same for Safari. I remember that iOS 3 on the iPad 1 was a little finicky when doing that type of stuff but Apple solved that with an update a while back (still in iOS 3).
