iPad Videos app problem

I am traveling and have only my iPad with me. No computer. The Videos app won't open. When clicked it opens to a black screen. SO I have NO access to any videos I've downloaded. How to fix? Thank you.

Try Resetting it by hold the power button then "Slide to turn off". If it still does it try holding the Sleep and Home buttons till you see the Apple icon. Other than that you will need to Restore it using your computer.

The only app that can access videos synced to an iPad is the built-in iOS Video app. There are 3rd party video playing apps but you actually have to separately sync those videos with the apps through iTunes. You can't have them open previously synced videos, they have to be specifically synced as "common files" through iTunes.

Have you tried completely closing the Video app and then resetting your iPad? You can completely close the Video app by double-tapping the home button so that you see a horizontal list of app at the bottom. Find the Video app icon. Long press on the icon until they all start wiggling. Then press the red circle icon next to the Video app. That will completely close it. After that you should long press the top sleep/wake button until you see a different red button saying "slide to power off." Do that and then turn your iPad back on. Make sure your iPad isn't plugged into a wall charger while doing this, you want to ensure that your iPad completely shuts down.

Now, if none of that works, you are going to be stuck without a way to watch your previously synced movies until you can get ahold of a computer (running iTunes) to restore your iPad.

At first try to resync them to your iPad, via iPad sync from iTunes or reset to factory settings. If these does not fix this problem then go for searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it. And check whether it opens then or not. Hope it will work.

FileBrowser will work with any file that iOS can recognize, and can hand those files off to other apps. It costs $3, which is $3 you’ll save in weeks by keeping your computer switched off.

The other reviewers gave the answers I would give, so if you are travelling and desperate you can always subscribe to netflix. find something that streams live and download the movie while in the airport library.

I have a 16 gb ipad and don't generally buy movies, so neflix is my best option.
