Whatching ipad on tv

I have a ipad 1. I brought a av compnant cable to watch downloaded videos. i plug it into my pad and in to the tv set the tv to the correct channel and play the video only it doesnt show on the tv only the ipad. Is there something else i should be doing or will this feature not work with ipad 1.

You need to enable video output through the iPad's settings (at least I think that is where they are located, it has been over a year since I have used an iPad 1). Also make sure that your TV is on the correct input and you have the appropriate cables. Keep in mind that some third party cables (i.e. not made by Apple) can have compatibility issues and that they should specifically state iPad compatibility. Also keep in mind that Apple branded cables purchased off of auction sites for extremely low prices are more than likely fake and those might not work.

Hi thanks for your reply but i dont seem to have any option to enable video output in my settings so not sure what to do. Anyway thanks
