Unhappy iPad photo folders ?

Please help, I synced photos to me new iPad, the photos that were not in a folder on my desktop show up, the pics I had in folders don't show up at all, but it synced and said successful, are they taking up space and I cannot access them? How do I delete them or find them now ?

You have to specifically instruct iTunes to sync pictures from the folder you want. Moving, renaming, or deleting the photos from that location will give you problems. So find a permanent home for your photos first (unless you like to keep photos on your desktop like that), plug your iPad in, click on the Photo tab within the main iPad window in iTunes, and point iTunes to the folder you want. Note that you can only sync photos from one folder and that the organization all depends on how the files are physically organized in that folder.

Ok

OK so you mean the folders i synced first was replaced everytime i tried another one, ending with my desktop, so the others one arent on the ipad at all taking up space, thats good, so the concept now is I can only upload one folder of pics to the Ipad from Mac? got it I think, thanks for the advice, kinda makes sense now

So you mean I can't even add a subfolder into the folder I use for them? and this >> and that the organization all depends on how the files are physically organized in that folder.
I am not sure I get that part, how do you organize them inside the folder If i cannot make subfolders?

You have to organize on a computer before loading them to the iPad.

Right, you can only sync photos from one source folder. That source folder can have a series of sub-folder (ie albums) housing all of the photos. So I sync content from E:\Photos on my computer. That folder houses various sub-folders for each album. One would be E:\Photos\Mayhem Festival (7-14-2010), another would be E\Photos\Christmas (2008) and so on. You cannot have anymore sub-folders after that. To me, the easiest thing is just to create folders for each album/event that you have and sync that way. It is easier and faster than organizing by all of the various aspects (locations, people, dates, etc.).

I believe the iPad can also sync photos with iPhoto under Mac OS X. I have had a 13" MBP for almost a week now so I am still getting into the hang of things with that but iPhoto has more organizational options that just using folders. I am not sure if those organizational schemes will transfer over to the iPad though as I have yet to sync it with my MBP.
