You may need to disable some apps from using resources.

Background App Refresh: Only apps that need this should be enabled (email, text messages, shared list apps, travel apps....)
Cellular Data: Only apps you need everywhere needs this (email, text messages, shared list apps, travel apps, banking, shopping, maps, calendars, reminders....)
Siri Location services: This used to be a huge battery hog. I turned it off 5 years ago and never turned it on again. Not sure if it is a huge battery hog now or not. Siri is not enabled either.
Location Services: Only apps that use location should have this on (maps, calendar, travel, reminders, wallet....) and it should be limited to While Using for most if not all apps. GPS is a battery hog.

As for apps that save battery, they are usually fake.

Even the "Battery Saver Mode" of Pokemon Go does not actually use less power (screen is still on) but it does prevent your leg from accessing the screen when the phone is in your pocket.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....
