FB/Instagram notification woes....

I'm having something weird happen whenever I get a Face Book or Instagram notification, or email notification. When I click the link, it opens FB or Instagram in Safari, and NOT the FB or Instagram apps.

Is this normal? It's sure as heck annoying, because the FB and Instagram webpages keep asking me to DL their apps, which I have installed and running.

Any help appreciated,

thanks,

Win

Actually, every time I receive a facebook notification in iOS 7, it opens the facebook app by default. All e-mail notifications open in Safari no matter what I receive but non - e-mail notifications open in their respective apps. What version of iOS are you running and what device are you running it on?

First let me say thanks for the quick response. Second, sorry for not including the most basic info, like what phone and what O.S. DUH!

I'm using the iPhone 5S, with iOs 7.0.2
Facebook version is the latest version of the app.

thanks again,

Winston

I'm not quite sure what is going on then. I have an iPhone 5 but am running the same versions of iOS and the facebook app. I suggest doing a couple of things. First, make sure that your facebook account has been added to iOS. Second, if you've already done this, try restarting the iPhone by holding the power button until you see the option to "slide to unlock." Do that and then turn your phone back on. Lastly, you can always restore the iPhone and sync from a backup and not sync from a backup. Every facebook notification I receive opens up in the app. I'm not sure what I was saying last time but all new e-mail notifications open in the e-mail app as well. In fact, every time I receive a notification from a specific service (e-mail, Facebook, snapchat, CNN, etc.), iOS will open up the respective app once I select the notification in the notifications menu.

Ok, good hints. I went to SETTINGS, and chose FACEBOOK, and I noticed that, while is shows the FB app as being installed, the login /account info was not filled out. I just did that, so hopefully this will resolve the issue. I've been having the same issue with INSTAGRAM notifications. :-)

thanks, will advise if this works.
