Desktop Connect App for Ipad

Does anyone have any experience with this ipad application? If so, have you tried controlling your computers from outside your local network.

For example lets say i have to take a trip and I'm in a hotel room with wifi, can i connect to my laptop at home, transfer files etc....

Thanks

Yeah you can use gotomypc app. It works great to connect to your PC with your iPad. But its not free. Otherwise you can also Teamviewer. It is free but for personal use.

you can remotely transfile (transfer file) using dropbox... or if it is just a small file like documents and photos... just email it to yourself and you will be able to have it anywhere you go as long as you have device that could open your email and the attachment...

What you have suggested is very practical and easier. I often do that old school thing of sending files to my email as a way of storing them. You're right, dropbox is another one good way. Thanks for the share!

I often wonder, why would you leave your computer or laptop open and running at home? I mean, are you not afraid of fires? don't you think it will break after such long hours of staying up?

I dunno, I just wonder how they can afford to do that in this economy where electricity bills are off the charts.
