do the remotes work with any kind of headphones, or is it attached to the headphones? i use different cans..

also, can i keep the ipod on hold to disable its buttons while i control it with the remote? (say i want to keep the ipod in my backpack and keep it on hold so it doesn't get bumped and change songs, but want to be able to control it with the little remote that i'll keep in my pocket?)

Yes, you can use the remote with any headphones, as long as the iPod has the little port with 4 gold contacts right next to the headphone port. Yes, you can use the remote when the iPod is on hold.

Ah, nevermind that....apparently my package was "rescheduled" which is why it's taking so long to get across the country. Silly UPS....
