Well I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience; I am surprised to see you have been posting here for a while and have just got your iPod! I hope things work out for you; and maby you should post your list of problems in the iPod problems forum (http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=39) for additional support.

I know this doesn't help you, but just as a reality check my XP system recognized my new iPod right out of the box (after installing the iPod software, of course)

its probably my firewire card in the end, going to try get a new pc soon anyway or get the USB cable when its out and suffer no music. I corrupted the HDD and couldnt reformat it this time so i sent that ipod back to the store and they will be sending me a new one soon.
hopefully it'll be trouble free as soon as i get the usb cable :p

Haha, I would, but i sold the last one I don't need on ebay... Try going to a apple store (bring your iPod), and just connect it... You'll notice the difference... if you like, it, buy it

Hey XiXora,
I have the 20GB IPod and the 30GB IPod configured to the Window OS. Both work flawlessy. Your problem could be the way you confirgued your computer and the software you're using. I have no problem synching with Ephpod using the IPod manager (version 1.2.6) on both IPods. In my experience, the IPod takes about 30 seconds before it is fully synched to the computer. Just mess around with the IPod and reset the IPod if you totally mess up the IPod.
BTW, the Mac computers do make a difference for the IPod since I use to have an Apple iBook and it never have any problems.
