i dont know if anyone has any ideas for me, I currently have a project in total about 8.2Gb. From about 20 mins ago, after using iMovie for about 5mins, it closes and the 'imovie has unexpectedly quit' window appears, and i loe my work, ihave restarted multiple times, and this is still happening...
i am using an 800mhz G4 17inch imac with 786mb ram on os x 10.2.6. i think i might have just met the limits of the system, with about 20mins of minidv quality video, however, i find this limit quite low. I have the crash log if you want it.
Also, is there a more sutiable forum i can post this on?

Nah, you can't have hit the limits of iMovie with that. I've done much larger files with much less RAM, and I've never had a crash. Are you using iMovie 3? I'm told iMovie 2 is problematic with 10.2.6. The official Apple forums can be somewhat helpful with iMovie.

I've done more than 20 minutes as well. I'm also using iMovie 3, OS 10.2.6.

I believe there is an update to imovie 3.01. It doesnt really help though. iMovie 3 is just really craptacular.

Really? I haven't had any trouble whatsoever with it.

You are the first person I have heard/seen to say that!
FWIW: My set-up is identical (iMac 800 768...) imovie just crashes. A lot. No rhyme or reason. Just crashes.

Hmmmm...I have the same iMac (smaller screen, sigh) and less ram, but run iMovie 3 without problems. Perhaps it's in the way it relates to the camera?
