Hello everybody,

this is my first post here. BTW, I'm very glad to have this forum!

I bought a iPod mini a few days ago and it's just great! I use it in the car, connected to a cassette adapter (Lexus has no AUX in their oem radio  ).

My mp3 archive is huge and I only have 4GB on the mini, so I created a new favorites list including the songs I want to hear in the car.

Now, my problem is a volume thing. The volume is louder or softer depending on the song. I read about the sound check option which must be actived in iTunes and the iPod - so I done this but it doesn't seem to work well.

I have actived the sound check on both but AFTER I created my favorites list.. Is this the problem? I just don't get it...?

Here is what I have done:
1. Created the fav list
2. Uploaded to iPod
3. Activated the sound check option
4. Added some more titles to the fav list
5. Updated iPod

I appreciate any help!

Thanks a lot

Cheers from Switzerland
Markus

Unfortunately marlex, the sound check option is pretty much worthless. It'll eliminate small differences in volume, but when it comes to large differences, it has little or no noticeable effect. Your best option for the future would be to rip/download songs that are at the same bitrate. But if you are downloading them from p2p programs, if the people used different programs to rip the songs, the sound will be different.

Hi Moe

thank you for your reply.

So you think my iPod has the sound check activated properly? Isn't it necessary to delete all mp3 from the iPod and upload them again?

Thanks
Markus
