Try running euPOD while iTunes isn't running. Don't eject iPod from iTunes before closing iTunes; simply close iTunes and start euPOD to see if it recognizes your iPod this time.

Welcome to the Lounge iPodsRTehCools!

Where are you from? And why on Earth are you wasteing your time on EUPod? could it be that you have an EU Volume Caped iPod???

If so I'd recomend you to ditch EUPod IMMEDIATELY!! It's just plain bad code! EUPod is good for One thing and one thing ONLY DISTROYING your iTunes.db File on you iPod! And once that goes you can Reforamt (i.e. Restore), you iPod and expect to resync everything you have again!

Should you wish to simply remove the Volume Cap without all the hassel of EUPod. I'd recomend you try GoPod. for *Nix, Mac & Windows. You Update /Restore your iPod once with the Software from Apple. Then you just connect you iPod up to your PC and execute GoPod with 'One-Click' you will have fully disabled the EU Voulume Cap., vitualy forever. Or till you need to either Update or Restore you iPod again, at wich point you'd need to rerun GoPod.

GoPod makes getting rid or the EU Volume Cap as simple as 'Fire and Forget'. Just don't sue the EU / French Government if you go deaf in 20 years Time :p

GoPod was written for 3G iPod's I belive it works for Minis and G4's as well...

If you like to try this or other Hacks you can do so by going to x:\<IPODNAME>\iPod_Control\Device Folder. In Windows Explorer.

You can add the following Hacks:

_Show_Voltage Displays a Numical variant 500 (Full) 0 (Flat).

_Show_Speed Displays the current CPU Speed replaceing the Clock display on the iPod. *4G ONLY!!!

_Short_Deepsleep Will cause your iPod to enter Deep Sleep mode after Five Minutes (Normaly this should take anywhere between Thirty-Six to Fouty-Eight Hours of inactivity to reach this state.) The next time you go to activate the iPod it should reboot (i.e. Apple Logo). Deep Sleep Mode is about as far OFF as you can take an iPod as an iPod normaly in Sleep mode and is still useing the Batterie. Deep Sleep goes beyound this mode.

_Disable_Cache Will disable the 32Mb on-Board RAM on the iPod. This will not only cause undue wear on the HDD, but, will also drain your Batterie very, VERY FAST!!

To do this all you need do is to create a new .txt File and Rename each File to that of the one you wish to activate above. Thats it...

On the 1G / 2G there was a File here called 'Limit' for the EU Vol. Cap. You could have simply removed that File and pop no more Vol Cap. (On <3G and above the Cap is now built into the iPodOS use GoPod!

If you'd like to try some other Hacks you can do so by adding these to the Notes section of your iPod...

Errors
Memory
Preferences

...and Rot13

In the case of the Above you'd need to create a new .txt File In these Files you'd need to type:
<Errors>
<Memory>
<Perferences>

IN SEPERATE FILES! Rename .txt to .xml and you can access these functions in your Notes Section in your iPod..

You can decode Rot13 encripted notes on your ipod by useing <ROT13> NOTE </ROT13> Ex:
---------------CUT--------------------------------------------
<ROT13>Vaqrrq, EBG13 vf pbby orpnhfr gur fnzr pbqr rapelcgf naq qrpelcgf, fb lbh pbhyq chg guvf pbqr ba lbhe vCbq va <EBG13> gntf naq ernq vg, ohg gura ntnva lbh'ir cebonoyl whfg tbbtyrq sbe n EBG13 pbairegre lbh purncfxngr.</ROT13>
----------------CUT-------------------------------------------

Copy that into a .txt File and save it in you Notes Setion to read it!

Just make sure that you have you Windows Explorer set to display all 'Hidden Files and Folders' or you will not be able to see the contents of your iPod. As it's hidden by default. You may also have to check 'Use Disk Mode' under the iPod features of iTunes aswell...
