The O.C Season 2 Finale

Does anyone on these forums watch the OC? Last night, on the east coast of the US, they aired the Season 2 finale. I don't want to give too much away if anyone has not seen it, but any guesses as to what will happen next season? The finale was amazing!

I figure since it's a big forum, someone is bound to watch it here.

Yes, it is, but its extremely entertaining.

I would say its a guilty pleasure for me.

1. If you are just here to Troll, why don't you just leave. But as long as we're insulting each other:
a. American Idol - Why don't they just call it "American karaoke" Its a joke of a show, no real musicians would ever go on there.
b. Survivor - Reality TV, enough said.
2. T.I. had any respect to begin with?
3. What makes it dumb? Please explain to me how the fact that its a Fictional drama about a bunch of kids is stupid. The shows writing and some predictable moments do make it frustrating at times, but the general show has never claimed itself as smart television, its just entertainment.

Making yourself an ### in front of millions of viewers so you can get a measly prize and 5 mins of fame is a joke. Thats stupid television.

No!!! I love it. Don't watch any American Idol/Big Brother type stuff though.. reality TV programmes are a bit crap

We're a bit behind over here, so the finale is a while away.. it wasn't that long ago when Channel 4 started airing it, then cut it off mid-series to show the cricket matches (which I also wanted to watch but nvm...)
We've only just seen the episode when uh.. err Julies porn video is shown at her magazine launch.. thats the only plot detail I can recall because the storylines have disintegrated into nothingness.. I still keep watching though :D

Wordage.. I know the O.C. is hardly high brow entertainment, but it pokes fun at itself, and occasionally makes some intelligent cultural references aswell. I remember someone at school telling me the O.C. was for idiots, just after the episode when Kofi Annan was mentioned.. and when I asked, the said judgemental person didn't even know who Kofi Annan was. Hypocrites, I tell thee. And yes, T.I. can hardly sink any lower in the respect stakes.

isn't the whole point of watching tv to be entertained? expect for watching the news...yes that's basically it. I don't want that Idol or Survivor stuff. Reality tv isn't my style.

sypher, you're way behind us. the next couple episodes are ok, but the last like 4 or 5 are really good. everything comes crumbling down, starting with Julie's porn video. :D ok, i'll stop now. :p

Actually, my comment was about how the show itself was stupid. The fact that it is a stupid, fictional show about a bunch of spoiled, self centered, brat teenagers and their ridiculously imbecile families is apparent to anyone who bothers to watch more than 30 seconds of it. And then we wonder why the rest of the world thinks Americans are idiots. Between AI, Survivor and the "OC" I think Americans are a bunch of idiots.

Thw show itself may or may not be the best, but the soundtrack is IMO. It features/has featured some great indie type stuff and i've gotten into listening to quite a few artists from hearing a song on the show or one of the CDs.

Wait wait, so if you don't find the show entertaining, and other people do, then you must be right and we must all be wrong.

Please explain WHY the show is stupid. I think you'd find it hard pressed to explain when the fact that it tries to be nothing more than a FICTIONAL DRAMA in the vein of a soap opera. Now, the fact that the writers include hundreds of pop culture references and the fact that they poke fun of themselves (The 2 main girl characters are fans of "The Valley", the 2 main character boys groan.)

If you had watched the show you would have also known that the Main character (Ryan Atwood) was "saved" from Chino, and had nothing growing up until he was taken in by Sandy Cohen. Yes some of the characters are "spoiled".

Just because you can't identify with the characters does not make the show stupid, it makes it non-entertaining to you. So what does this all depend upon? Your opinion. And like in "rock vs. rap" threads, again, you can't prove anything based on cold hard facts.

Now if you had some tests done before and after people watched The O.C. then i would say something, but otherwise, to me its all your opinion.

I don't intend to be too personal.. but that coming from someone who delights in portraying himself as a 'stoopid' redneck is a bit ironic. I shy away from mentioning the whole Bush supporter thing too.. but you get my drift.
Besides, in my experience, few people think that the O.C. is an example of stereotypical trashy American TV, the opposite in fact - the script is witty and often contains that dry humour which we're so fond of ;)

iBimbo .... I think the OC is a great show. It's a bit silly sometimes but that's OK ... and I love American Idol too.

Not a fan of Survivor .. and don't know the other shows.

We are up to season 2 in Australia and it's getting good. I mainly started watching it because Alan Dale (Kirsten's bad dad) is one of the main characters and from OZ.

I'm hoping Bo will win Idol. I think he can sing and that they will give him some decent material for his album. I must admit I haven't liked the albums the previous idol winners had but he might have some decent rock material to choose from which would make a nice change. I think Carrie can sing too but I'm not into country music so her album wouldn't interest me.

Anyway, maybe gals like the OC and boys don't ... as I don't know what sex the posters are .. maybe that's where the love/hate posting has come from. It probably is more a girl show which I AM !!!

I'm a guy and I watch the OC.

But it was better in the first season. The show laughed at itself better without making a mockery of some of the more sentimental moments.

It's lost that touch this season.
