Direct from Apple in the U.S. $17.00 + $6.95 shipping. See :http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/

Perhaps your Ozzie Apple website has their price in $OZ.

I didn't know they started selling them on their own. I thought they were only sold with the remote which I thought was a bit silly.

Anyway, if buying off ebay I would get sealed (who wants dirty ones) .. or broken ...

But I saw these in OZ ... http://www.macmall.com.au/mall/customer/product.php?productid=1736&cat=509&page=1

and they look exactly like the ipod standard earphones ??? but they don't say they are.

If they are defective, then fill out this warranty claim http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/ and Apple will send you some new ones.

If they are damaged through misuse, etc, then you will have to look at buying some from Apple - Australia (http://store.apple.com/133-622/WebObjects/australiastore.woa/80405/wo/DHCyBBLhUbAj3SaDuok1AxqIu60/0.0.11.1.0.6.15.0.3.1.3.0.3.1.5.1.1.0) maybe, or ebay, or whatever.

Hi, mel--I've read that the stock Apple buds are made by Sony, but couldn't confirm it with Apple. Here (http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/specs/hardware/L16749C_EN.pdf) is the iPod spec sheet, which includes some of the headphone specs. If the specs are the same as the ones you're looking at, then maybe they are identical.

Thanks dragfree for that.

This is the info their site displays: (which is not enough to tell)

Stylish quality white earbuds to suit all model iPods

Wide dynamic range
Excellent bass response
Sony speakers in the earbuds
Light & comfortable
Stylish design

and a picture if I can do this right

or a link to their site page for the earphones if not

I just had to return my sons earphones which were faulty. They sent me an email to say if I didn't return the old ones or were damaged by misuse I would be charged $29. So I suppose even if they are not covered, or they are caused by misuse and you think they are worth $29, it's an easy way to buy them without buying the remote.

BTW, my son had pulled the earphones and it looked like misuse to me, so wasn't sure what Apple would do. After they received them they said "case closed" and didn't charge me, so it was great service.
