Hello, I have been reading quite a bit about ipod cases and have narrowed my choices between the otterbox 4g and specks' toughskin.

I am leaning toward the otterbox, especially since it is now the same price as the toughskin and offers water resistance as well. However, the only thing holding me back is the fact that it seems that only apple's earbuds will work with the otterbox. Is this true ? Is there no way to get other earphones to work with the otterbox ? Has anybody had success in this regard?

Thanks,
Apurva

Well, the new otterbox 4G is waterPROOF, and it will work with any mini-plug headphones no problem... makes sure to check out the new line of otterbox 4G cases, not the old oPod cases

I've had the otterbox I picked up work with other headphones as well. Great case; don't have anything to say about the toughskin though.

I really like my new Otterbox's clear case. Indeed, it is now waterproof. It definitely protects my 60G IPOD PHOTO from several drops it suffered during my jogs and hikes.

i love my otterbox, it feels so safe and secure. went on a dive liveaboard 2 weeks ago and the others onboard were getting spray all over thier ipods. mine was safe snug and protected from the elements on deck. any mini connector headphone will fit
