ER-6i Shirt Clip -- is it really necessary?

as soon as i got my ER-6is, i immediately noticed the shirt clip, i "carefully" removed it soon after. i didnt see the reason why needed a clip for these since the cord is just slightly longer than the supplied apple stock buds.

*once thing i remember w/ IEM or in-ear buds is the microphonics. i noticed it on the EX71s and it's back on the ER-6is

so i'm wondering if it's necessary for my to keep the shirt clip on the cord? thanks. cheers!

I find that the clip helps, in that it keeps the cord from swinging around too much; it would also reduce microphonics, I assume (this hasn't been a huge problem for me anyway). The headphones are very light, as is the cord, but for me clipping it makes the setup more comfortable and secure (at least it feels that way!). But of course, everyone's experience is unique, and I'm sure you'll find others who prefer to do away with the clip.

I agree with using the clip - especially with the Shuffle. It helps steady the phones and prevents any extra pull on them which is uncomfortable.
