Do I have to have the songs I want to put on my iPod Mini in AAC form, or will adding them using Realplayer in WMA form work as well? I'm asking because I've been ripping all my CDs with Windows Media Player.

Itunes will end up re-encoding the songs to AAC. I don't think you can use realplayer to transfer to the ipod and why would you want to? I would start using iTunes from now on when ripping CD's.

These are the codecs that are compatible with the iPod and .wma is not one of them. You don't have to use the AAC codec but mp3 would be better. AAC & MP3 are the best to use since the others will take up a lot of space on the iPod and you will only get a few songs on it.

Yes, you can use RealPlayer 10.5 to transfer songs to the iPod. Incompatible formats such as WMA will be transcoded "on-the-fly".
