iTunes stopped updated play count.

Hey all. iTunes stopped updating playcounts when I sync my iPod... ideas? I have some high-count songs I don't want to lose, so I don' want to start over. How do I get my counter back?

1. Sync iPod
2. Disconnect it
3. Play some song completely
4. Connect iPod back and make sure that it can be accessed as HD
5. Do not start iTunes
6. Run Explorer, make sure that it has show hidden files, go to directory ipod_drive:\iPod_Control\iTunes
7. Right click on file Play Counts and select properties, write down the file size and date
8. Run iTunes, do sync
9. Stop iTunes, do steps 6-7
10. Provide results here

I have the same problem and have followed your instructions, the 'Playcount' file disappears after I have sync'ed with iTunes, is this normal?
