ok, heres my situation, i'm getting a new 2g 4gb green ipod mini. I am running on a win 98 SE. I found out that i cannot get itunes without all that "hassle". So i decided to use REAL player as an alternative. So all thats left is the ipod update for the 2g Ipod MINI. I have the update on my brothers computer where i will use it just to update to the new firmware. Then i will transfer songs with Real Player. Is there anything im missing that should be done? Is there something on the CD that comes with the Ipod that is nesessary? Or should i just bother not to even install the CD because i don't even have XP or 2000. PLease reply.

Don't install the CD since it's for later versions of windows. You can use the link in my sig for a good tutorial to make sure you have everything you need for 98SE set up.

The CD has the User's Guide on it for the iPods and the tutorial which is also located here:
