Just got my fixed/refurb ipod back after the exclamation folder error- v. impressed with apples quick service (I was without it for a week, including posting to and from).
But- I manually updated it, as I don't always have enough battery to last the entire update (as my firewire is non-powered).
Once I only had a couple left, I changed back to auto-update, as I normally have it set (as adding a couple of new albums is fine- it's transferring the entire collection at once that takes too long).
Updated fine... except when finished, it didn't unmount, and I had to do so as if I had updated manually.
I don't mind this much- it's only a minor niggle, but am slightly worried that I might forget and assume after auto-updating that it has unmounted, and remove it without unmounting it manually- which I believe can cause problems.
It's got the latest update on, as being a new model 4g won't take an older one.
Ideas? Help? (I did a search and couldn't find this exact problem- I apologise if I have missed an obvious post!)
Edit- I'm an idiot. New ipod had reset the disk mode settings on itunes.
