Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have a 20GB IPod, my avalible space is 9.8GB with only 179 songs on my IPod. When I was setting up my IPod on XP it hung up when I was formatting. Could that be the problem. Do I need to reformatt my IPod.

It won't take long to put 179 songs back on your ipod, so just reformat it to make sure.

I reformatted (restored in ipod updater) my 30GBphoto when i had a problem the exact opposite of yours. I have 6 audiobooks, about 600 songs and about 250 pictures. My available space was 27.8 and my capacity was 27.8. LOL it' didn't move with over 6 of data on it. I restored my ipod and everything worked great since.
