win 98 + ipod 4gen?

i have an ipod 3rd gen - 10gb that i plug it in my win 98 pc. I'll a buy an ipod 4th gen next month and i'd like to know if it's the same thing...can i use it w/ my old win 98 pc...?

are you using itunes?
do you have usb 1 or 2?

1. He can't use iTunes
2. Doesn't matter, USB 1.1 is just slower.
