I am looking to purchase a good set of earbud style headphones to replace the stock iPod ones as they are to much of a give-away when walking around. With all the iPod related robberies I want to be safe. I want to spend less than $35. They must be of a known brand. Thanks

try Sennheiser MX500 Earphone . it is the best earphone under $20.

I too use Sennheiser MX500's for jogging and the gym, and like them very much. The sound great for earbuds, they have a volume adjuster on the cord and they're quite a bargain for about $20 shipped. I'd say my only gripe about them is the cord is a little shotter than I'd like.

If you're interested in a canalphone, the Koss Spark Plug (not the Plug as that's an earlier model) is a good bet for under $20.

Once again I find myself singing the praises of Koss Spark Plugs. Great sound, great noise cancellation, great comfort, great price. I love them. And so far, the wiring hasn't crapped out on me like the sony ex 71s. I vote Spark Plugs.

If you don't need a volume control, maybe a MX400 will suit you better. Both 400 and 500 are similar in sound quality.
