Let's say (hypothetically) ;) that a three-year-old dipped your head phones in oj this morning... I have no idea how many dunks or how long, only that I found them covered in oj and the guilty party fully admitted it with a wry "was that bad?" smile.

They worked afterwards, but am I on borrowed time?

Mine went through a wash/dry cycle in the machines a few weeks ago. Worked fine until they got wet in the rain.

If the sugary stuff has been washed off well and they work OK, you could easily be good to go. Headphones are a lot more forgiving of water than msot other components.
