Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I installed Icelink in my 97 BMW 540 (non-dsp) a few days ago, along with the upgrade to show text on the car's radio/OBC screen. It worked fine for about 3 days, approx 6 hours of listening.

This morning it abruptly stopped playing, the car stopped recoginizing the Icelink/iPod, and the CD option isn't showing on the car radio. The iPod froze, but corrected itself when I removed it from the Icelink cradle and turned the iPod off, then back on.

Per the instructions on the densionusa website, I reset the iPod, but the car still doesn't recognize it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Rick

Sorry I have no help to offer but the exact same thing just happened to me. Worked fine for a few days and today when changing playlists via my CD changer, the exact same thing happened to me.

I received a reply from Dension. They suggested disconnecting the power to my radio either by removing fuse(s) or disconnecting the battery. I disconnected the battery and everything has been fine since then. I guess I'll see...

Do you have the latest firmware ? When I first received my Icelink Plus I had to disconnect the power to reset it. Upgrading the firmware seemed to fix it.

Thanks. I'm not sure. I'll check my version and update it if it's downleve. Thanks for the help.

I do not have much to contribute to the solution but was just curious how much it costed you to install the solution for your car? I have a 325i and I am interested in the same setup. thanks.

I purchased the icelink at Bestbuy. I believe it was $199.00. Very simple to install. Greatest difficulty for me was running the cable under the carpet and console from the trunk. I had to install mine at the 6 disk CD location. Would have been a lot easier if I could have installed it at the back of the radio/head unit. For a retrofit solution it works extremely well.

The actual connection and set-up is extremely easy, thus I didn't need to pay BB. And since the running of the cable from the trunk to the interior required removing the rear seat, fishing the cable under the carpet, and partially removing the center console I didn't want to risk them screwing something up. I'm sure they would have done a good job, and they probably would have run the cable under the door sill plates which would have been ok, but not what I preferred.
