Well, I took the plunge and had the Icelink Plus by Dension installed in my 2003 Accord LX. They sell it at Best Buy now for $199, and gave me free installation (well, it was $5.35 for materals). And being able to just get it at Best Buy was what convinced me to go for it. I suppose it seems "lower risk"/more acceptable to me when a major store sells it.
The icelink is SO much better than those dratted FM transmittors that there is no comparisons. They mounted it to the right of my knee, so I can see it well while driving, and can read the screen to see the songs. The Dension holder looks very attractive, with a pleasing rounded shape, matches the car well, and has an insert you can take in and out to switch between the mini and a bigger iPod. I can control playlists, go backwards and forwards in them, shuffle, etc from the radio controls. The sound is perfect. My audiobooks finally sound good in my car!
This was such an easy, painless solution for someone like me who can't do a dang thing with a car more complicated than putting gas in. ;)
The only problem I've noticed so far is that the iPod doesn't stop playing when you change the radio controls off CD changer. No biggie, though.
