Hi,
No doubt, I am overwhelmed with all the info and especially today after visiting my local Apple retailer with the sales associate compounding my confusion.
What equipment do you guys use to enable your IPOD's to play in your cars???
Thanks!

I currently use a cassette adapter into my stock head unit. I plug this into a Sik Imp which plugs into the dock connector in the bottom of the iPod and gives me both a line out and a place to charge from the cig lighter if I need to. In my last car I have a cd player with a Aux line in that I used with the same Sik Imp. Way better sound than you will get out of an fm modulator and the cassette adapters are relatively cheap. You don't need to use the line out, you can use the headphone Jack but you will have to crank the iPod volume all the way up to get decent sound. The only time this is a problem is if you forget to lower it before plugging in your headphones:)
not that it's ever happened to me...:P

Belkin Auto Kit, with a Belkin audio cable running into the Aux In jack on the back of my stereo. The iPod rests in an Arkon cradle and gooseneck mount.
