My son's iPod has developed a dark patch on the screen that now is blank when turned on (see attached photo). Has the internal coating come off the LCD screen? Did he do something to cause this? I assume the screen can be replaced - I have disassembed to the point of getting the screen out - bets place to buy?
Thanks
Ted

Welcome. It looks that may have been caused if the screen was hit pretty hard with something or even dropped. You can buy a broken iPod off ebay and just take the LCD screen out of that.

Or you can buy just the LCD screen, not wasting a lot of money on a broken iPod when you can buy the LCD screen for a lot less.
Also, almost all the iPods on eBay which are broken are being sold because of their broken screens, remember this next time afalconsvick.

WRONG! Most iPod's on eBay are there because of faulty HD's. And do you know a place where you can just buy the LCD screen? Remeber next time BiReL41r that most on eBay are from HD's.
