I need help deciding on the best path for an ipod interface in my car. I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. Aftermarket headunit: Kenwood KDC-515S. I have a 4G 20gb ipod.

I want to have a direct connection between my radio and my ipod. So far these are the options i have seen

1. Auxiliary input with existing head unit
2. Neo iOn
3. New head unit with ipod interface (ie alpine reciever and kca-420i)
4. New factory head unit with USA Spec IPod interface (Chrysler)

I'm sure these different choices have been covered, but I thought I would go ahead and see if i can get any feedback while reading about these options

Why not wait a bit and get the actual Kenwood iPod interface. I have no idea if it will work with your headunit, but you can check for yourself:

Kenwood KCA-IP500 (http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKCAIP500)

I have a Pioneer Premiere head unit and a '97 Jeep Wrangler and it works amazing!! The sound quality is very good. Check out my system if you want:

The only reason I wouldnt wait for that interface is the fact that my head unit is like 6 years old, the faceplate loses its connections when i hit bumps sometimes, and some of the buttons i have to puch to get them to work hehe.

thats the main reason why i thought I should go with an interface not specific to a headunit. maybe I should just get a new head unit, and us aux input until i can decide on an actual interface..
