Woohoo, 40GB arrived today but......I am trying to install it and nothing is happening, installed all the software (PC) and now my iPod is sitting in the dock saying do not disconnect but noting appears to be happening ? There is a small circula arrow in the top left of the ipod screen ?

Looks like nothing is working on the PC.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Do not disconnect is good--that means your computer is recognizing your ipod. Open up mmjb next, and go from there...

Well if it's saying "Do Not Disconnect" the iPod is most probably mounted and you can upload songs to it via f.e. MMJB [I never used it tho; I prefer EphPod]. If you got the iPod manager installed [also not needed] then I think it should be automatically configured to fire up MMJB but I am not 100% sure. Just do it manually...

Check Windows Explorer to see if there's a new drive [letter] called iPod. If it's there then it's mounted and fire up f.e. MMJB [I suggest you switch from the start immediately to EphPod or MC9 but that's up to you of course] and start uploading/synchronizing mp3s.

The message "Do Not Disconnect" is correct and will remain flashing until the iPod is unmounted which I suggest you do the moment you finished "managing" the iPod.

The cicular arrow is telling you that the iPod's drive is being accessed by your computer. It will flash every second or so.

What happens when you fire up MMJB?

Might want to ditch that program, check out the Software Compendium (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2286) for a list of options.
