XP USB2 with problems!!!!!

Nothing will reconize my ipod, I've already checked and I have 6 USB 2.0 ports available. When I plug the USB into the computer It keeps telling me the USB device is not recognized. How can I get my IPOD on the USB to be recognized?

It's not showing up in Musicmatch, xplay, ephpod, nor the IPOD disk that came with it.

Its a brand new 20 gig IPOD, I have a 2.4 PII, 6 USB 2.0 ports.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

And I forgot, the apple logo has never went away. I charged it even, biut there is nothing but a apple logo.

Have you tried all your usb ports?

Put the iPod into forced disk mode...press the FF and REW buttons until it says OK to Disconnect, then connect it...you'll probably have to do a restore.

The apple on the screen has never went away -- even after trying to reset it and pushing the fast forward buttons like you said.

I tried all the USB 2 ports, i charged it overnight, i have all the software installed. Nothing can detect the IPOD.

And the #### apple has never disappeared! Help!
