I don't know the Belkin firewire card, but what do you mean with "cant plug the card in to the power supply"? How do you plug a PCI card [presuming it's a PCI card] into the power supply? You just put it in a PCI slot...voila or is the Belkin card having a special/separate [extra] power connector such as seen at certain video cards?

gocha: some firewire cards have a plug on them to accept a power from your power supply directly instead of feeding off of the PCI bus. Most don't but some do.

Kenjii: is there a reason you can't connect a power supply cord to the card? Do you not have any spare ones left? If not, it should work w/o it, just try it....

Thought so but I haven't read about nor saw this feature yet on firewire cards; seems logical anyways.
Thanks for the heads up.
