Ipod Charged Screen On!?!?!

I am having two problems with my ipod mini. First of all, my Ipod won't mount. I connect it to my computer but nothing happens. Second of all, my ipod has a Charged image on the screen and won't go away even after I unplugged it to my charger. I'd restore my ipod but I can't backup all my songs as I can't connect it to my computer!! (I delete all songs on my PC once I've transferred them to my ipod)

I use:
Windows XP
HP Compaq NC4000 Laptop
Ipod Mini

Anyway help or advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!!

well, you should have kept them on your computer, that's the first thing (or made a backup data CD). Does it show up in my computer? Have you tried connecting it to another computer? That should tell you if it's your ipod or your computer that's the problem. Also, you can try resetting it by holding down the menu and select buttons until the apple icon appears, which works for people sometimes when their computer won't recognize their ipod.

Thanks! I'll try resetting it.
And I'm pretty sure it's something to do with my iPod, since it won't recognize it in 3 different computers.

Can I just add one more thing, that when I actually take it out of the charger and listen to my ipod, the battery sign indicated that it is full together with the lightning bolt. I left it playing for about an hour and it was still full with the lightning bolt! What's wrong!?

What generation you got? IVe left mine playing for four hours and it has still been full on my 2g

Thanks for all the help, but I took it in and they said there was no way you could fix it. He said it's rare but it does happen. Anyway, they gave me a new one...but all my songs....:(
