Damnit. It's happened :( Wear and tear has finally damaged my headphone jack. It started a while ago, the sound coming out of only one ear unless I put pressure. I overdid this one day and heard a cracking or clicking sound, and now no sound plays. If I look inside there are 2 copper strips that appear to be hooked, but one looks dislodged and I'm pretty sure this is it. Or maybe the cracking sound was the sound of the solder snapping off. I don't know.
Anyone solve this problem yet? I know there are sites that offer $60-75 repairs but that seems too expensive. Is this the only way? Do you think an electronic technician could fix this and would it be cheaper? The part itself is $25.
One more thing, I'm from Vancouver so that makes the repairs even more expensive. I'd be killed with shipping cost. I know it's a longshot but is anyone here from Vancouver who's fixed the problem or know a place?
Thanks a bunch.
