I've narrowed it down to this, my final question is...
How will this hold up to impacts? Like if I bumped into the edge of a table or tripped and fell on it?

My brother ordered that case online and got that case in the mail today and he likes it alot. The plastic is pretty thick, like 3 mm. There is no real padding or anything like the contour showcase has, but it seems like it would give decent protection on impact. A softer case like leather or neoprene wold probably give better impact on dropping because of the softer material.

I think its an excellent case...I have one...It has great protection for the screen, and unlike the silicon cases, it doesn't get all nasty when you put it in your pocket. Also, despite the thick plastic, the size of the ipod doesn't grow a significant amount. The only thing I don't like is that I had to put a PDA screen protector on the wheel coz it doesn't offer protection for that. Everything else is like wot mxer210 sed up there ^
