View Full Version : unpausing doesn't take me back to where I was

I'm using my shuffle to learn French and have to use the pause button to stop and guess the right French phrase following an english version. Trouble is in some cases when I release the pause I'm about 5 seconds ahead and in other parts of the course about 5 seconds behind. This seems very very imprecise for a pause button. Has anyone else noticed this problem. It doesn't really matter in music but in spoken word it's pretty annoying.

Yeah, noticed it now and again, sometimes it unpauses in different songs from the one it was paused in! Seems a bit strange...

I have also experienced this problem, but it is mostly when I turn the shuffle to the "off" position. I am not sure if this is a legitimate fix, but if I leave it on pause long enough for the light to blink 5 times, it seems to always go back to the paused postion...(knocks on wood) Most of the time, it works pretty well though

On a vaguely related subject, I also have weird issues with it remembering volume. Sometimes I can pause or switch off the Shuffle and when I unpause/switch back on it seems to have kept the last volume I had, but sometimes it seems to drop back down to a pretty quiet default.

It's not so much of an issue since the *infuriating* lack of on-board normalisation on the Shuffle means I have to adjust the volume after almost every track as it is (and i'm not willing to normalise my entire MP3 collection, because it degrades sound quality).
