Hello,
A few months back I bought a 4th gen 20gig iPod, put all my music on it from my PC, and started listening. It worked fine for a couple months, but occasionaly when I clicked on a song to listen to it, it would skip to the next song in the playlist. It wasn't too bad at first, just happening once in a while.

Recently, the problem became a lot worse, sometimes skipping to the next song 75% of the time.

I formatted my iPod, and put all my music back on. It isn't as bad as it was just before the format, but still skips to the next song once in a while.

So I was just wondering if anyone has had the same kind of problem, if there is a fix, or if my iPod is just faulty. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

PS. I apologise if this has already been posted before.

Welcome. First, make sure the songs play in iTunes before transferring to the iPod.

OK, thanks a lot for those links, but now I am having another problem: My iPod will not mount, charge, turn on, dnything. It seems dead. It just went this way last night. Very strange...

Try connecting it to an outlet and letting it charge up then reset it.

I would, but when I plug it in to an outlet, nothing happens...It's 'dead', as I said. I've tried 2 chargers and multiple outlets.

Then I suggest to contact Apple & send it in for repair. It must be the battery.
