Itunes needs to be reinstalled??

Hi, recently i have come across the error of itunes havign to be reinstalled again. I didnt want to uninstall itunes, so i checked to see if it can be repaired. I repaired it and it works again yay! but every so often i get the say error message again: the device for communicating with the ipod failed, reinstall itunes (thats what it is summ'd up). I know i could uninstall itunes if i had to, but im trying to avoid it. anyone know why i get this error? btw, im using itunes 4.7.1

If you uninstall iTunes it might be wise to backup your /iTunes folder. Thay wau you won't lose your library (playlists, ratings, etc) details.
