Breaking large audio files into various smaller ones.

I have the whole Beatles collection in big .wma files (one file per album), and I want to break them into smaller files (one per song). From what I've read in the forums I understand that can't be done on iTunes, I suppose it can't be done with Windows Media either.

Which program would you recommend to do this? I would preffer a free one.

I have just been in Adacity's web page and found this note:

Note: Audacity does not currently support WMA, AAC, or most other proprietary or restricted file formats.

This means I would have to convert my .WMAs to MP3 first, any idea of a program to do that?

iTunes can do it if you set it properly.
