View Full Version : Useful playlist improvement

This is a fairly simple change (firmware update would definitely cover it), but one that would be quite useful. All I'm proposing is that the iPod should automatically save your place in a playlist if you start listening to something else, and then add a 'Resume Playlist' to the other options in that playlist (or change the color of the highlight when you roll over the saved track, for a photo version). The memory required is very low, just a track ID and time code for each playlist, and even that could be cleared.

The most likely use for this is when you're listening to an audiobook, or something else that is long and likely to get interrupted (for example, language learning tapes converted to mp3). It's something where losing your place is very annoying, because you've often got 30+ minute long tracks, and it's likely to get interrupted while you're out because of changing situations (it may be fine for riding on the bus, but when you meet up with your friends, the iPod's likely to get passed around so people can check out your new stuff).
