i recently bought a ipod mini and it didn t come with the wall charger. I was wondering if i could use a 12v 200mA adapter to charge it cuz i dont feel like buying the apple one for 30$.
im 99.9% sure it will work properly cuz it says: Rated 5-30Vdc 1.0A Max on the back of the ipod, but i just wanted to ask before i try. I was wondering if the 12v would charge faster than the regular 5v (from USB)

i tried to connect it but when i did the ipod went crazy for a second i saw a battery icon with an arrow and then the screen went blanc, i quicly pulled out the charger and started pressing buttons on the ipod. i thought i had fried it but after a few seconds i saw the apple logo apear. my ipod still works:cool:
any idea why this happend, did i damage the battery in some way?
