How come when i go to copy a cd it freezes? I will have nothing open just itunes, and it frezes?

i have:
-windows xp
-dsl
-the newer itunes

Can someone please tell me whats wrong?

yah because itunes is very very crappy software. My computer 99% of the time freezes when i first plug in ym ipod. I also have windows XP. I have no idea why it does htis tho, but be sure you are nto alone.

USB or firewire connection?

If firewire, native or third party?

If third party, is it on any of the 'known to work' lists?



If USB- are you using a hub?

A lot of USB drivers are flaky- ESPECIALLY hubs. Unplug all USB items, delete all USB drivers in the Control Panel/Hardware Drivers area, then restart the computer. Plug USBs back in one by one.

Itunes is not crappy software... maybe because you have a very very crappy OS installation.

Be sure that we are not alone with those who have no problems with WinXP Itunes and connecting an Ipod.

That being said. I dotn really like Itunes... but I wouldnt call it crappy, it does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Just I don't want that in a MP3 player. I just use it for music transfer to my ipod.
