I have a 4th Generation iPod which I mostly use for listening to music. I play games when I am bored on long trips and wonder if games can be added to iPods? If so... where can I get them?

Search the forums. The simple answer is no, the long answer is yes, but you have to risk your iPod.

When it comes to games for your iPod, the only real answer is installing linux. However, linux does not work on 4th gen iPods yet, so you seem to be out of luck.

so far with the current firmware of the ipod, it is not possible add to games unfortunately because the ipod has a pretty good res so there is potential. Maybe we will see a change in this with future updates.

if you think about it...its not worth playing games on your ipod...the battery life shrinks and second its just plain horrible graphics haha. might as well play with the psp or gameboys no need to waste time on your ipod

I disagree with the comments saying "Buy a PSP/DS" because we already have an iPod and it would be nice to put some more games onto it, I know I wouldn't want to carry around an iPod and a PSP in my pocket. The games on the iPod are cool for the bus journey and other similar times when you just want to pass the time, unlike a PSP which is actually a gaming machine, not made just to pass the time.

Well whether you all like it or not it seems newer & better games are coming to the next gen of iPods; SEE HERE (http://ipodlounge.com/index.php/news/comments/apple-looking-to-create-better-ipod-games/)

if you dont want to put a psp and an ipod in your pocket why did you buy an ipod anyway? psp can play mp3s too and its a gaming system. might as well get a system like that.
PSP's battery life is demented, and runs on Sony's proprietery memory stick DUO (expensive memory) and Atrac3 for music.. Very inefficient.
While the PSP is portable, its more like an AC-adapter device

You didn't even read my post did you? I don't want a PSP, just a few more little games to play on the bus while I am listening to my music.
You are getting a bit confused.
The iPod has 20GB (or more) storage, the most you can have PSP store is 1GB.
THEY ARE DIFFERENT DEVICES FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES.
The iPod has a few simple games, the PSP can hold a few songs but they are two totally different devices.

It would most likely be the next generation.

I just think it would be pretty gnarly to play some pac-man or tetris on it while your sitting there bored as hell. You know.. the classics

yeah i know what you mean, but still the ipod games are cool for like 10 minutes, after that you just listen to music and find something else to do like read the warning signs on the bus.
