Hey,

I've read all the posts and need just a little more advice. I have a brand new iPod 30 gig (it's SWEET). I bought the monster cable and have had O.K. success hooking it up to my home system. I had no luck using the phono jack, so I used an un-used video input with better success. I turn the volume up about 3/4s on the iPod and crank up my Yamaha surround sound receiver aabout twice as high as I usually do.

From reading the posts, it sounds like I should invest in a dock. Which one? If I buy the iPod 30 gig photo dock, can I plug the 3.5 mm jack end of monster cable into the dock? I know one of the jacks is for s-video, but I'm not sure what size the other jack is...

Any suggestions or help would be great; thanks!

I have the photo dock, and yes it's a standard stereo 3.5 mm mini-jack that will work with the monster cable. Since it's a line out output (not preamped) it will sound much better for connecting to a stereo.

just connect the ipod to the auxiliar (AUX) jack in your stereo using the monster cable and a headphone jack adapter. less costly than the dock, but also less stylish.
