help mini ipod errored..

hi all, i was transfering and updatin songs onto my mini ipod through the standard usb cord when a window on windows popped up and said it was unable to update or transfer the songs.. then my ipod froze and all it has on it now is " do not disconnect" and the time and charging symbol at the top are frozen.... can anyone help me?!

reset it switch hold on then off and hold down menu and select
