I am incresingly concerned with the rise of iPod thefts on the NYC subway, and why...because it is so easy to see who is an iPod user...the headphones. Yes, they're really trendy and Apple markets it really well to be "an exclusive", but now I want to change my headphones completely...but don't want to spend money on some black headphones. I was considering painting the entire unit (cable, speakers) in a pale-blue, one of my favorite colors...would look unique and nice. However, I'm not sure if it will stay or last long and if it is safe with pro-longed contact with human skin.
