Just wanted to let all of you know. eCost offers the new sony ex81 earphones, w/ the long cord, and in white, which is awesome! For only 36 bucks, free shipping. Its pretty incredible I think, but I may just be wrong. I ordered my pair fiv minutes ago, and can't wait to try tehse babies out, especially in that sleek white! Thanks

Never ordered from ecost before...while they say free shipping, it's not until you go through checkout do you see that $3.95 is tacked on for handling.

In your title, you state that you paid $38, but in the body of your post, you say $36. What was the final price you paid (with 'handling', if it was charged)?

Is there anyone here that has ordered from eCost before? Their return policy leaves much to be desired. However, that's a great price for those headphones.

Would really appreciate some feedback on purchasing experience from eCost.

Just ordered the same thing last night myself...I am anxious to try them out as well. Never ordered from eCost before myself. We'll see...I guess.

I've used ecost a number of times and have been quite happy. Never had to return anything.

Same here. Couldn't pass on that price, especially considering their A rating in the review here.

I bought mine for $39.94 or so. I got sales tax'd.

I got mine form eCost with zero hassles. Of interest was the fact that the cord configuration differed from the review here of the previously import-only version of these headphones. The imports came with the two piece system (one short and a second, longer extension) while this version that Sony is now offering in the US has a single, average length cable. I think I prefer the single cable. I do end up using one of those rubbery CableWrap thingies to help with excess, but that's cool.

I DO wish eCost carried the black version of these at the same price, however. I love the white, but you have to take care to avoid certain places where they scream out "Please mug me. I won't even hear you approach!"

I still may bite and order the black ones through Sony for $50. Still, I'm glad I got the white ones. They sound great, are the most comfortable I've ever worn and really make a statement when you do want the world to know that you are a member of the 'Pod elite.

Most of these stores only ship to the US, and I'm in Canada. :(

..my experience with ecost was bad. I ordered my flash memory drive from ecost. I found a scratch on the surface, and I'm sure it's not brand new........after a long arguement with their manager, I got my replacement after 3 weeks.........:(. . . anyway, I won't order from them again...

I think buying white earphones is just foolish! Get black ones people!

Why? White looks much cleaner, and stands out more. Plus, it matches the iPod. Sure, people may think that you have an iPod just because your earphones are white, but seriously the guy has to be a complete idiot to not notice the huge earclips going over the ears, and realise that they're not iPod's stock phones.

FYI - I ordered these Saturday night from ecost, and received them today.

And yes, they were $36 total.

I'm totally satisfied, and once you find the proper seal, they sound really, really good. Much better than the muddier EX71s I had.

I'm staring at the package right now - they are MDR-EX81LP, with white cord. They came with three sets of rubber buds (including the ones affixed to the phones).

I'm really happy with ecost. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I'm very pleased with the sound, too (listening to Coldplay right now :)).
