I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser 212 Pro headphones and after using them for about three days now I'm really getting quite annoyed with the ammount of base. It's almost too powerful. The comfort isn't quite there either.
Honestly I like the 212s sound except the bass is just too boomy. I could live with the comfort aspect but the sound is just way too bassy for me. I prefer a much more neutral or flat sound.
So, I've been looking at a larger set of Sennheiser phones such as the 515s or 555s. My main question is whether or not my 3G iPod will have enough power to drive the headphones. I don't listen to my music particularly loud (musician, thus don't care for ear damage, etc.) but I do enjoy to actually be able to hear my music, etc.
Also, which (the 515s or 555s) would you say has the better sound?
Also, I know these headphones are open... exactly how "open" are they? I mean if I'm listening to my music at a normal volume level will others be able to hear it, or wil lthe outside noise be too loud, etc? Just curious.
Thanks.
