i used a dremel tool and the cutting wheel attachemnt..its very simple and neat....i put a piece of foam inside it to make it not slide and i sanded down where i cut the metal from so it doesnt scratch

Looks a lil sharp where you cut the top off. Talk about scratching your iPod, i dont think its protecting it...An iSkin would be better.

I tried the same thing 2 weeks ago. If you use a dremel the final product will look better. It didn't work to well as a case though. So, I bought an iskin and am much happier. Also a little tape on the edges of the cuts will protect the mini a little from the sharp edges.

not a singe scratch cept the ones that were there already....and this one was a trial run to see if my idea would work...im getting another tin today and i will actualy take time with this one and ill sand the edges down and such...

people that crack on my case i made are idiots...if you have a case for ur ipod it still looks like an ipod and it will still be stolen at least mine is hidden and wat fool wat steal altoids not many people like altoids were i live..i like my case its original from my standpoint

and how about an altoid's gum case for a shuffle, if that fits it could be pretty cool too. nice job, but i would prefer the cinnamon flaver......maybe an altoid's gum case for headphone holders...nah, that would be too much haha

it was totally necessary.. look at that thing! it looks like someone with no hands or eyes cut the hole and someone with no brain came up wtih the idea. Its still sharp, and doesnt fit!

well why dont u try and do something out of the blue..that job was completely random no preparation except marking th hole to cut ..i never used a dremel before so it was a first time thing

That case really sucks, I mean why would you make a case that has metal that can scratch your iPod? Just buy an ipod case if you want to protect it because that case wont even protect the iPod trust me. It could actully be worser especially that sharp metal on the top. so stop that stupidity and buy a case.
