I think that the review of the Exopod is a bit unfair. The reviewer makes a statement similar to "the design is similar to one posted before hand". Here's a note: Helixpod was not the first person to make a machined aluminum iPod shufflecase. There was the guy before him (from Asia?)

Also, the reviewer posts how they use a similar design to Helixpod, as if helixpod was a revolutionary in putting a hole where the controls are. Just about every single case made for any of the ipods have holes over the controls and the buttons. There is nothing revolutionary about it.

I think it's kind of a kick in the nuts to Exopod to basically say he copied helixpod when making his case. The exopod's design with the magnets also is better than having the USB cable like Helix pods.

Anyway ... I just think the review was a bit unfair to exopod. I realize a lot of you are fan-boi's of helix pod so you probably won't agree, but I'm just stating some facts here.

have you even read the article? ive been looking for a while now and the only reference to helixipod in the article i can find is in the 2nd sentence:

Exopod's new Aluminum Magnetic Case for iPod shuffle ($35.00) uses a design similar to the one innovated by iPodlounge reader HelixiPod, but changes up a few features with interesting results.

How does this one sentence tranfer into ur 4 paragraphs of your paranoid hate?

I think perhaps you haven't read the article.

ok well perhaps i didn't catch something in the article and perhaps u could back up what your saying by showing us the exact lines where the article says that:
1. "Helixipod was the first person to make a machined aluminum case" <---- it doesn't say that anywhere in the article, its only saying that helixipod created an aluminum case and that this case is similar to it.
2."as if helixpod was a revolutionary in putting a hole where the controls are. Just about every single case made for any of the ipods have holes over the controls and the buttons. There is nothing revolutionary about it." <--- i still don't see this part in the article either

I'm not trying to make anyone look bad, infact i like the magnet idea from exopod and the concept where there isnt an opening at the bottom of the case like helixipods. I just think you are being unfair to the article.

Q. If Helixipod had not been so keen to share his machined aluminium case with the members of iPodlounge would eXopod have even been created?

Helixipod first shared his design on the 7th Feb 2005.

Tomekeuro85 stated on 2nd Mar 2005 "Hey eveyrone. My dad owns a machine shop with a bunch of CNC machines, and I can make ipod cases as well as helix."

Later on the same day he stated "I do not want to make it seem like I am trying to steal helix's idea, because he obviously came up with it first."

Enough of a smoking gun?
